Project Introduction

Bez Tebe Digital Memorial is a charitable digital archive dedicated to telling the stories of Ukrainian civilians—children and adults—who lost their lives because of war. The platform was envisioned as a space where each life could be remembered not as a statistic, but in its full, unique detail through illustration and storytelling.

Bez Tebe collects and shares stories about civilian lives lost during the war in Ukraine, highlighting their dreams, personalities, and the meaningful moments that made each story irreplaceable.

Project Goals

Bring psychological relief to families and friends grieving loved ones by enabling remembrance.

Preserve the memory of the ambitions, dreams, and everyday lives of those who were lost.

Keep the reality of the war and its consequences on the agenda in Western countries to support further humanitarian and sanction efforts

Problem Statement

In the media, stories of the fallen are often reduced to numbers and announcements of tragedy. Over time, this information risks turning into faceless statistics that fail to honor individual lives. Bez Tebe aimed to shift the focus from the fact of death to the uniqueness of each person who is gone.

Who We Created For

The project was created for a wide audience both in Ukraine and internationally (Europe, America), and intended for people of all ages, genders, and social backgrounds—anyone affected by war or wishing to honor the memory of victims.

Project Challenges

  • Finding and processing personal stories in the midst of an ongoing war was emotionally intense and logistically difficult. The team faced the challenge of maintaining sensitivity and accuracy, while respecting privacy and trauma of families involved
  • Sustaining project work during the early phase of the invasion was further complicated by personal hardships and the overall instability of daily life, leading to fatigue and difficulties in coordination
  • The project was paused when the founder was unable to continue due to personal reasons. As a result, the platform remained in a prototype stage, but the foundation for future storytelling and commemoration was established.
